It is used to determine the orientation of the prepared bone bed. It informs about the direction of the preparation with respect to the surrounding teeth or about the mutual direction of several implants.

The pin has two diameters. 1.5 mm for control of the preparation after the pilot drill. 2.3 mm for use after the S2.9 final drill.
